I recently purchased a new P-525 keyboard. While playing it during the initial setup, I noticed a few notes seemed to be ever-so-slightly out of tune. I put my tuner against the keyboard and was surprised to see several notes were as much as + or - 10 (seconds?... Is that the right division?). This variation seems pronounced when transposing the keyboard up or down several steps. So I wondered if electronic keyboards should be tuned PRECICELY to the note or if they purposefully allow some slight variation to create the kind of "personality" that acoustic pianos have.
Also, I see that in the menu options of this piano under "tuning" there are several choices: Pythag., Mean Tone, Werck, and Kirnberger. Can someone explain those choices to me as the manual doesn't go into any detail. I did notice that when I chose each of those, some of the variations of tuning for individual notes on the keyboard did change. I suspect that those choices represent types of common " personality " tunings. Am I mistaken?
