it took me a while to understand what you are trying to figure out but I think I now got your point.
The system is designed in a way that the sustain pedal is the trigger to hold the "old" sound (performance) until you release the pedal. I'm not aware that there are posibilities to carry over the pressed sustain signal to the "new" sound (performance). So as long as you keep pressing the pedal the "old" sound will be hold and the new sound will be without sustain pedal...
