Yamaha Montage and Montage M Forum • Re: Some more of my sound/synth demo videos

I'll attempt to recreate my long winded lost post. :crying-yellow:

I was trying to come up with a method to demo all these synths and spontaneously venture through many voices to provide a broad comparison in random fashion. Unscripted if you will and there are trillions of combinations of sounds between the boards and effects etc. so it's quite a task but it's what I like to do to entertain myself so I thought why now record these and post them.

For whatever it's worth and I know arranger folks probably don't care and there are a lot of those on this site. An arranger post can get hundreds or thousands of hits but I'm wasn't trying to achieve hits or subscribers necessarily just doing it because I'm already doing it anyway. I guess I'm more of a sounds enthusiast.

No arranger is going to give anyone sounds like these being all analog and thank goodness analog is back and relatively affordable. Sampled sounds are great too as I have the M8x, PA5x, YC73 & SeqTrak but there's nothing like real analog sounds swirling around in the atmosphere and in stereo changing & morphing in real time. Then I demo'd (2) separate PRO800s each on L/R channels which is like dueling swords.

I don't think I've seen many videos like mine and might not be what the people want. It's odd getting 200 hits on the post but only 40 views on the video. That means most people aren't watching them but it's there for some who are curious or should I say courageous?

One music tuber got 29,000 hits in 3 days and it was an off-topic thing so who knows the answer. I do suppose if I posted the same thing on Yamaha Synths (does that even work anymore) I'd get a bunch more. Not going for numbers anyway but I hope someone likes it. The sound quality appears to be excellent on my test just using a Zoom camera with direct line in running through my system.

Let me know if it doesn't interest you so I can get a feel. My next video I'll turn on the PA5x and do some DJ time warping, ear bending & morphing of styles and flip though drum kits in real time mixed in with analog goodness. Let the games begin. That analog RYTM MKII is so insane, I've never kept any drum machine, I've always hated them but this thing is unlimited fun. The PA5x is pretty good as well with capacitive touch shuffling through kits is a blast. I'll do that next video maybe tomorrow.

The reason I turn off/on the effect so often is because the analog fans like to hear it dry in comparison, that's a tough crowd. 8)
