Hi --I notice that in addition to the Montage M update, the SeqTrak and CP88/73 also got updates today. I guess Yamaha decided to drop a whole bunch of OS updates at once. Maybe some sort of shared code base?

There might be some shared code somewhere, but these products are quite different WRT user interface and internal hardware.
All vendors like to roll out something new for NAMM. My own opinion, Yamaha's NAMM will focus mainly on guitar products and the updates are the "consolation prize" for keyboard customers.
Yamaha also updated the Smart Pianist app and that is a completely different product line...All the best -- pj
