UPDATE:
I had to go visit my friend that owns the CVP 701 to get the job done.
The Video above - in a previous post - is absolutely nothing like how it needs to be done on the 701.
I had to figure it out by the 'poke and hope' method.
Here's my written tutorial on how to do it on the 701.
---------------------
Rendering/Recording Midi to Audio - onto USB Flash Drive - for the Clavinova CVP 701.
It is assumed the USB flash drive is plugged into the Clavinova.
1) Load the Midi song to be rendered to audio from the Clavinova User Song List.
2) Press the [USB] button
3) Press the [ - B - ] Button for Audio (notice that the A,B,C, etc, buttons are horizontally beside the menu selections in the window.
4) Press [7 Down] for Audio Play - If Audio begins playing from the USB Drive Press the Stop Button.
5) Press [1 UP] to "ARM" the audio recorder.
6) Press [3 Down] the start the Audio Recorder - leave one or two seconds of head room before next step.
Notice the time ticking off in seconds in the upper part of the window.
7) Press [Play/Pause] (the 'normal' - larder black button to play the selected midi file).
NOTE: If you Press Play/Pause again the song will pause and hitting the Play button again will Continue playback -
and NOT start from the beginning.
You need to hit [STOP] - - - and then [Play/Pause] to start from the beginning.
8) When the recording has finished wait 2 seconds - and then Press [2 DOWN] to stop the recording process.
NOTE: You will quickly see a notice telling you the name of the recording saved to the USB drive.
It will disappear quickly so watch the window.
