Yamaha MODX and MODX+ Forum • Best DAW?

Hi folks

I am neither thrilled by the electronic sounds of the workstations nor the free DAW Cubase.
My expectations:
- easy to operate DAW, simply because I don't need much.
- outrageous sounds/libraries of the Techno-Scene
I have no experience with those things, that would be worth mentioning. But by priciple I would only need a better sequencer. Nothing more.

1. I ask you, out there, for your opinions about DAWs. I don't need 1000 and one feature. I only want to record tracks and then experiment by switching between sounds on those tracks. Simplicity... that's what I am looking for. Intuitively to operate! Although I can imagine, that freaks don't know the meaning of such words anymore. Too used to chaos.

2. I am a Techno-Fan, which is not supported by Yamaha. Neither famous analog sounds of the great synth-times (Jarre) nor modern supersaw-sounds. A trillion (e)piano samples, only a handful saws. I tried to import and scale samples, but with supersaws this is not possible. So the workstation is no longer of any use for me, when I want to make advanced Techno-Music.
Supersaw is not supersaw. There is a vast amount of variations. And I want to have them all or be able to synthesize them all by priciple. I played around a bit with "Vital", and found sounds a galaxy easier to craft and of a galaxy better quality than my MODX could ever offer
.
My questions are: shall I invest in a Softsynth, and if "yes", which one? Once again: I am not looking for GB-monster-software. Or do you know outrageous sound-libraries, which can be imported into a DAW?
Or what could be a harmonic combination all such things?

Thanx for sharing your experiences and opinions.
