If you have the great CP1 laying around collecting dust with all 15 voices or whatever it is the SeqTrak can transform it into a much improved rig.
Obviously the CP1 should have had 30 or 40 supporting cast orchestra and strings voices if you got into a pinch on a gig. Now with the ST I think with CP1 as a master it can add (2) other channels which at least doubles it's capability adding hundreds of new voice content including real additional FM.
Maybe Yamaha wasn't thinking of the ST as a rompler plugin but for pennies it transforms old boring dead gear into something new and comprehensive.
Like I suggested herein it's probably a big mistake because now anyone can avoid purchasing the Yamaha flagship gear and just rejuvenate anything you/they have especially non-Yamaha users like Korg, Roland etc. Yamaha was thinking about breaking into the niche gamer style teenage market but might have shot themselves in the foot and just severely undercut their other markets.
Yamaha is a monster corp and didn't actually need this market but the ST is so good now we don't need to buy their other stuff. Perhaps the word won't get out or people won't consider this on a large scale because it still appears to only be a Lego looking toy. I can chain a few of these together too and have everything I need. Interesting move though and I wonder if it comes back to bite them or they sell millions and don't care.
