Hi All,
I just got my Montage M 7 a few weeks ago and I am loving it. I think it is the best overall synth keyboard I've ever owned, and I've owned quite a few.
I have one minor problem though. I want to record audio from the Montage directly into Logic Pro (version 11) on my iMac via USB. The iMac is currently running Ventura 13.6.6.
I installed the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver 3.1.6, and then connected the Montage and turned it on, per the instructions. When I open the Audio Midi Setup app I do not see the Montage listed. In Logic, the Montage does not appear under Settings -> Audio -> Devices -> Output Device or Input Device.
I am able to record MIDI into Logic (Montage M Ports 1 through 4 do appear in the list of Inputs under Settings -> Midi). So I know that my USB connection is good. I'll also mention that going into Utility -> Quick Setup on the Montage and selecting "Audio Rec on Daw" makes no difference. Logic does not see any audio inputs coming from the Montage.
And one more thing: I am able to set up the Montage M as a control surface in Logic Pro. In the control surface setup screen Montage M Ports 1 through 4 appear under the Input Port and Output Port dropdown lists. To use the Montage to control Logic you need to assign Montage Port 2 to both Input Port and Output Port on the Logic control surface setup screen. When I turn on the DAW Remote button on the Montage I get control of things such as start, stop, record, track volumes, etc. from the Montage. That's pretty cool.
Have any of you recorded audio from a Montage M via USB into Logic Pro? If so, do you have any suggestions?
If this topic has already been discussed on this forum, my apologies. I didn't see it.
Thanks,
Dennis Brown
