Would love any advice so that I can use the Yamaha P225 as a controller for the Reface CP or Nord Electro 3
Here is what I have
The Yamaha P225, Kenton Midi USB HOST MK3 and a Yamaha Reface CP
The P225 is connected via USB to the KENTON
The Kenton MIDI OUT goes to MIDI IN of the REFACE CP.
Essentially this should work. I didn't mess with changing any settings on either keyboard because it seemed to me the default settings should work, but maybe I'm suppose to?
Just to confirm, I have a quarter inch cable running from the output of Reface and I can hear it through my speakers if I play it alone , but when I play the 225 it does not trigger the reface.
The mode light on the Kenton is Green.
I was a bit frustrated I had to buy the MIDI USB HOST by KENTON, My setup for years is a nice weighted piano then when I need it , I midi it to the nord electro 3 or more recently the Yamaha Reface CP to get cool electro piano sounds. I had the Roland RD88 and the midi worked great and controlled the REFACE. but I wasn't a big fan of the RD88 (ver terrible interface and the piano sound was kinda ass), so was excited about something a little cheaper, nicer piano sound and using it as a controller. So now i'm just sad it's not working and feeling a bit ripped off since i had no idea this would be an issue.
