Arranging 16 parts is not an easy task. Depends on the usage of the parts, which opens you fine flexible possibilities. This hack itself is not flexible; because of the fixed assignment. Sometimes I use such parts for workarounds, sometimes I really need them. For example an extra percussion part, filled with special sample ("new waveform"), assigned to single keys. For example I craft rolls or fillins myself, save them as wav and import them, in order to simply trigger them with keys. Sometimes I use them for the crappy MS, especially when MS assigned to volume. e.g. one time a cross fade between two copies of sounds, then switching back per scene to the originals. Or as in my Tubular Bells cover when needed many tracks indeed. This requires the most thinking, because of the order they appear. Then the first/steadiest parts should be in 9-16,because you can only kbrd control the 1-8 ones. Muting makes no difference. 16 parts opens you all you need. Even for most complexe songs I know, this was allways sufficient. Much fun with that expansion.
